Artist-In-Residence
Visiting Artist

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts has many opportunities for artists in the community to exhibit, teach and create work. MHCA has five studio spaces, several galleries including the Chaney, Martino, Balcony and Hallway galleries, and an outdoor sculpture venue. Artists in all media teach classes through Maryland Hall's education program.
The local Artist-in-Residence program provides subsidized studio space to artists who are actively creating new work and who wish to interact in a creative environment with other artists. Artists from all disciplines are invited to apply, although the studio space is best suited to visual artists. Studios are approximately 400 square feet, or half-classroom size, with water and elevator access.
The Visiting Artist-in-Residence program periodically invites artists from New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania to reside in Annapolis for one to three month residencies.
The exhibition program at Maryland Hall reflects artwork of local and regional artists, both in contemporary and traditional media. Throughout the year MHCA presents community exhibits in addition to curated group and solo exhibits. Proposals for indoor galleries are reviewed on an ongoing basis; outdoor sculpture is reviewed annually. Click here for exhibitions guidelines.
Artists who would like to submit proposals for teaching in the education department, should contact egarvin@mdhallarts.org.
