Description: A natural progression from the classical ballet I level with greater emphasis on correct body placement, ballet, character and free movement technique. Additional technique exercises at the barre are added, along with continuing ethnic character dancing and free movement modern dance. Two to three years of training helpful. The child may be invited to participate in the RAD spring exams which are part of the RAD certificate program. If the certificate program is chosen, the child will receive an official exam certificate which is suitable for framing and an award medal from the Royal Academy of Dance, London, England. Two classes per week are suggested for all students and are mandatory for RAD certificate candidates. The RAD certificate program is optional. The spring recital is part of the program and there are no admission fees to attend the recital. The spring recital will be held at the end of May. Please note that the spring session contains more weeks than the fall session. Therefore, the tuition is higher. Dress: RAD light pink tank leotard, pink ballet tights (Prima brand), pink ballet slippers (no split-soles) and character shoes available through Dance Supply, Severna Park (410-647-8727). The character skirt is ordered from Mrs. Razzetti.
